Innovative Health Working Group Meeting – 24th June 2020

24 June 2020

Our June meeting was Chaired by David Kidney (Public Health England) who kindly stepped in to cover Bethan Bishop (IHWG Chair) who had other work commitments.

Following on from the very successful and well attended Innovation Alliance West Midlands Virtual event held online on 30th April, this IHWG meeting was focused around the following topics:

  • Sharing case studies and experience gained during the pandemic. This will allow us to reflect learn and importantly enable these examples to shape our approach to innovation moving forward. Therefore, we would like to invite companies, academic teams and health and social care staff to share their experience related to innovation. This will simply be in the form of a people providing a 5-minute overview (no slides required) where any challenges and learning related to the creation, development or adoption of innovation can be shared with the group. If you are interested in presenting, please contact Ravi for further details.
  • Understanding of the opportunities around 5G for healthcare. This will be a useful opportunity to learn further about the opportunity that 5G presents in healthcare.

We heard fantastic presentations and case studies from Enlighten; Simple Design Works; Kaido; Hydrogen, as well as an update on the West Midlands Health Tech Cluster from David Kidney.

All presentations can be downloaded here.

This meeting was part of a series of three in partnership with our IAWM sister groups – Innovative Low Carbon Working Group and Smart City Alliance.
