SWM to deliver Midlands wide study into the Low Carbon Environmental Goods & Services Sector

SWM and kMatrix Data Services have been commissioned by the Midlands Energy Hub to provide an evidence-based study to understand the current state of the Low Carbon Environmental Goods & Services (LCEGS) Sector in the Midlands, where support is needed to help grow this sector, and the role the sector can play in driving a low-carbon recovery from Covid-19.

The study will be delivered between November 2020 and March 2021 and the views of a full range of regional stakeholders are sought to complement the quantitative data analysis.

The outputs will include information at local authority and LEP level, along with a Midlands wide report.

Focus Groups

Nine focus groups (one for each LEP area) will be held in January 2021 to discuss the quantitative data with particular focus on identifying the skills needs for the sector and identify any gaps in provision, as well as wider support needs.

Final Engagement Workshop

A final stakeholder engagement workshop will also be held on the 23 February 2021 to present key findings and recommendations starting to emerge, to explore ideas for relevant policy development and targeted business support programmes, and wider recommendations to support the growth of the sector.
