From 12 July 2022 to 30 September 2022, small and medium businesses from the Greater Birmingham and Solihull area are able to apply for the GBSLEP Clean Growth Grant (and will share part of the £1.2 million funding available).
The Growth Hub is offering businesses in their region a £10k capital grant towards energy-efficiency and renewable energy measures.
- 5-249 full time equivalent employees
- 2+ years of trading from date of application
- SMEs & organisations based in the GBSLEP Geography with an annual turnover of <£43m
Energy saving measures that will be considered include, but not limited to:
- Solar panels
- LED lighting
- Air/ground source heat pumps
- Heating controls
- Efficiency improvements in industrial processes
Applications will be assessed as they come in. It is anticipated to end the funding call in September 2022, and so applications need to made swiftly to access the funding.
The business must show significant energy saving or renewable energy production and grants will be awarded based on the energy savings and value for money as well as project deliverability (i.e. timescales for delivery).
The applicant business must provide a minimum of 30% match funding towards the total cost of the measures they wish to apply for grant funding towards. (This is £4,285.71 at the top end).
The grant will be paid only after the measures have been installed and paid for in full.
The measures will need to be installed, completed and paid for by 1st March 2023.
Business that can benefit from the grant:
GBSLEP Growth Hub expects to support at least 70 businesses/organisations with the £1.2million funding that is available for the total project.
Businesses (small factories/warehouses, offices, shops) which own their own buildings or have long leases, they expect to access the grant.
