News: MERIDIAN LIVE 2019 SUCCESS!

Last week the Innovation Alliance for the West Midlands (IAWM) were proud to support the West Midlands Academic Health Science Network (WMAHSN) at the first of this years Meridian LIVE events. With the highest percentage of NHS attendees to date, delegates had the opportunity to get actively involved in interactive sessions involving Mr Potato Head, blue sky thinking and Quality Improvement Techniques.

Iain Mansell, Project Manager and Innovative Health Working Group coordinator for IAWM said:

“I ran one of the surgery sessions and had the opportunity to speak to many of the organisations in attendance. It was great to see so much enthusiasm and I’m glad to have helped direct delegates to opportunities in the region that can help their businesses thrive. Well done to the WMAHSN team for putting together such a great event”.

The event saw industry, academia and health and social care organisations come together to hear about some of the fantastic innovative opportunities going on within the region. Each attendee now has the key contacts and information required to go back and drive the scale and adoption of best practice within their own areas.

If you were unable to attend the event yourselves then you can access the presentations via the link below to get a real taste for the day. Missing presentations will be uploaded shortly, do keep checking back for more information. Please don’t worry its not too late to get involved and if you are interested in exploring this in your area then please do not hesitate to contact the WMAHSN Innovation Exchange Lead, Tammy Holmes (tammy.holmes@wmahsn.org) who will be happy to help.

Meridian Awards 2019

The next event will be our annual Meridian Awards taking place in July 2019. This is an opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the fantastic activities going on within the West Midlands. The awards will be presented at a glitzy ceremony at the West Midlands Academic Health Science Network’s (WMAHSN) annual awards evening on 18th July, and reflect the WMAHSN’s dual aim of improving health and creating wealth.
