Birmingham Tech Week, the UK’s largest regional tech festival returns this October

Birmingham Tech Week, the UK’s largest regional tech festival with over 5,000 attendees will return this October for five days of inspirational events, innovative demonstrations and engaging content. Taking place from October 10th – 14th, the festival will highlight a number of important topics, including artificial intelligence, web 3.0, robotics, big data and digital transformation.

This year’s theme will be ‘going global’ and the event will discuss what’s needed to ensure the West Midlands can go from being crowned the ‘fastest growing tech sector in the UK’ to an international tech hub that leads the way. To ensure this happens, Birmingham Tech Week is working with a number of strategic sponsors and partners.

Kate Lawlor, CEO at Bruntwood SciTech, said:

Birmingham Tech Week aligns brilliantly with our commitment to supporting the growth of the tech sector across the West Midlands. Through this partnership, we can provide the environment, ecosystem and community that the tech sector across the region needs to form, scale and grow at a local, national and global level.”

The week, which attracts some of the UK’s best known tech brands and execs from the likes of Microsoft, Amazon, Google and IBM has quickly become a must-attend tech event for digital leaders and entrepreneurs

Yiannis Maos, the founder and CEO of Birmingham Tech, the organisation responsible for delivering the week, commented:

The week was founded on encouraging collaboration, celebrating regional success and inspiring people from all walks of life to get into technology. We are really excited about this year’s festival as the region’s tech sector has seen a real transformation and the week will act as a catalyst for future growth.”

The festival will be delivered in a hybrid format with a number of main events and fringe activity taking place across the week. Available in-person and online, the week will be accessible to all and is designed to help businesses achieve more, inspire the next generation and highlight the importance of digital skills.

Simon Hills, Chief Executive Officer at Wise, one of this year’s sponsors and a partner of Birmingham Tech, commented:

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Birmingham Tech and sponsoring the Digital Skills day at this year’s festival where we’ll be exploring how the region can improve diversity and inclusion, with a focus on Women in Tech. Supporting our local community and raising awareness of just how fantastic the West Midlands is for both tech businesses and talent is something we’re passionate about and so we’re looking forward to this year’s event.”
