The Challenge:

How can the region build upon the expertise of our Creative Content Production and Gaming Cluster, identified as an area with potential for high growth in the West Midlands Plan for Growth, in order to innovate and grow through the development of new products and services and adapting current ones to new markets?

Main Objectives:

1.The project aims to bring together stakeholders from the Immersive/ Creative sector to collaboratively learn, exchange ideas, address opportunities and solve specific challenges that require diverse perspectives and creative expertise across the Film and TV sector.

2.The project will embrace innovation through dedicated R&D projects – directly supporting companies to develop an operational prototype which can be used in the Film and TV sector.

3.The project will provide opportunities for SMEs and big business to work together to develop solutions that address social, economic, or environmental issues.

Main Outcomes:

1.By creating a dedicated R&D centre for Film and TV, we will see increased knowledge-sharing and partnership-building resulting in new products and new commissions,

2.Through facilitated workshops, we will generate new ideas and innovations that can address challenges and create new opportunities. Create Central will appoint a specialist producer and business support officer with experience in the creative sector in order to offer support for businesses in moving their prototypes forward.

3.By supporting R&D projects, we will facilitate commercial activity that can continue to drive innovation and impact beyond the scope of this project.
