Call to Action: Support the West Midlands bid to host the Intelligent Transport System World Congress

Transport for West Midlands recently submitted an Expression of Interest to host the ITS World Congress 2027 in Birmingham. We are delighted to inform you that we have been selected to bid! The Department for Transport are urging us to bring this global platform for transport innovation to the UK.

At ITS Birmingham 2027, we’ll present Future transport, for real. We’ll put the spotlight on our nation’s businesses, educators, public authorities, and the third sector.  Delegates will gain hands-on experience of how we’re using ITS to tackle global challenges to improve accessibility, reduce traffic, and electrify transport.

Our prospect of securing the Congress is excellent. We’ve got a fresh concept, a nationwide community of backers, and a cost-effective plan for running the event. Following the Commonwealth Games, we’re standing on the shoulders of regional success, too. We feel that it would be an ideal opportunity to showcase the diversity of projects, technology, careers, and skills that support the UK Intelligent Transport Systems sector, and we would appreciate your support.

We are asking you for two things:

  • A letter of support on your headed paper
  • If you can, a pledge of sponsorship so we can show genuine support behind the bid

The team and I are on hand to address any questions you have. We are aiming to finalise the bid by 5 November and would appreciate any way you can help and support us.

Yours sincerely,

Chris Lane
