WHAT WE DO
The Innovative Low Carbon Working Group (ILCWG) is a cross-sector network whose membership consists of practitioners from universities, local authorities, businesses and voluntary organisations from across the whole West Midlands region.
The group meets quarterly and provides each member with an opportunity to propose and develop collaborative project ideas and to share good practice in relation to the low carbon and innovation agenda.
Chair: Alison Fulford, Carbon Adviser at National Grid
Co-ordinated by: Alan Carr, Senior Sustainability Advisor at Sustainability West Midlands, and Policy and Partnerships Manager at Innovation Alliance for the West Midlands
Date: 7th July 2020
Theme: ‘A West Midlands Green Recovery‘
The primary focus of the meeting will be to discuss how members of the ILCWG can help support the WMCA to ensure that the post-Covid recovery is centred around the environment (see the WMCA announcement on its Green Recovery plan on 5 June). We will hear from Jackie Homan, Head of Environment at the WMCA, who will introduce key areas of focus in the post-Covid recovery and then invite you to propose ideas and solutions to these key areas. This will be in the form of breakout sessions and you will be asked to select which theme is of most interest to you when registering.
The meeting will also include the usual update on public funding opportunities courtesy of Jenni McDonnell from the KTN, and an opportunity for each of you to share your current activities and where you’re looking for collaborations as part of the virtual roundtable.
