Following on from our successful Masterclass on Sustainable Construction, held last May, ARLI is re-running the event this September for those who missed out on the May event or who would like to learn more about sustainable construction, innovative materials and technologies that will impact the design and build of their projects. The Masterclass will again encourage the interactive engagement with industry specialists from a number of organisations.
Speakers include: Francesca Wilkinson, Environmental & Sustainability Manager at Willmott Dixon and Philippa Birch-Wood Thrive, Director at Chetwoods to reprise their excellent presentations, supported by Academics from the University of Birmingham.
The need for the construction industry to be more sustainable by changing outdated practices and thereby significantly reducing carbon emissions and positively contributing to the circular economy is equally important now as it was in the spring, heightened by the current energy crisis and economic pressures that continue to grow.
The CPD accredited course is primarily aimed at West Midlands SMEs within the construction supply chain and will allow attendees to network and learn from some of UoBs leading academics covering topics such as Life Cycle Assessment, Smart Cities, AI Technology and Alternative Material Choice.
The Masterclass is organised as part of the ARLI collaborative research programme, which is working with SME’s to help them innovate new, low carbon materials for the construction industry and wider. ARLI will be running the Masterclass in Sustainable Construction on Monday 26th September 2022.
