exclusive launch of Cycles of Innovation, an exhibition that celebrates Birmingham’s remarkable legacy in bicycle manufacturing and the innovation that has taken place at STEAMhouse over the past 100 years. This event will take place at STEAMhouse, Birmingham City University, on Monday, 30th September, from 5:30 PM, and you’re on the guest list!
Cycles of Innovation is a unique exhibition, on loan from the Birmingham Museums Trust, that showcases historic bicycles with deep connections to the area, representing over a century of local craftsmanship and technological advancements. Each bicycle tells a story of technological advancements and social change. The exhibition is stunningly suspended in the atrium of the iconic Belmont Works building, a former hub of the bicycle industry, which has now been revitalised as part of STEAMhouse, an award-winning centre for creativity and innovation.
We’re proud to be making accessible a vital part of the region’s cultural and historical fabric, and to bring these amazing artifacts back into our communities. This installation is not just about looking back but also inspiring future generations of designers, engineers, and entrepreneurs.
So, come and connect, be inspired and celebrate our shared history of innovation and progress. We look forward to welcoming you to STEAMhouse for an evening of celebration, inspiration, and networking.
