STEAMhouse invite you to explore the theme of CleanTech to reduce our environmental impact, with a particular angle on improving air quality in the city and region.
Each STEAMlab is a bit different, but the essence is about open working, creativity, innovation – making new connections and exploring new collaborations to find and try out new ideas. Seeking solutions to genuine, real world challenges.
STEAMlab brings together a diverse range of people and skills and supports you to understand and tackle challenges that are relevant and interesting for today’s society. The aim of this STEAMlab is to find ways of working that can be applied to wider climate and environmental challenges across the West Midlands and beyond.
They will be working with Adelan, an innovative fuel cell technology company who aim for low carbon, and clean power in construction, homes and vehicles. Adelan are bringing forward this STEAMlab challenge to try to unlock routes for new clean tech solutions to have real impact on the climate and environmental challenges we are facing right now.
UK clean tech could help solve air pollution and climate change, but very often fails to reach markets. This #GreenSTEAM STEAMLab aims to rethink the Birmingham energy market and stimulate local actions to solve urgent air quality issues.
However, as with many STEAMlabs, the idea is that the themes and ideas developed as part of this lab will be applicable beyond just the specific products and specific markets being examined. The important thing is to bring an open mind.

Please note, this is a two day STEAMlab and participants will need to attend 4-7.30pm on the Wednesday and 9.30am-5.30pm on the Thursday, please let them know in advance if this is an issue for you.
