Supporting the sector through the Homes Decarbonisation Skills Training Competition
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to a webinar to inform you about grant funded training courses that will be delivered as part of a Homes Decarbonisation Skills Training Competition.
Training opportunities will be provided within the following retrofit skill sector fields:
- Insulation
- Heat Pumps
- Retrofit Assessment and Coordination
The Homes Decarbonisation Skills Training Competition is a £9.2m scheme to provide grant awards to a range of training organisations in England, who will offer appropriate training and support to installers operating across the different Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) schemes.
Supporting the supply chain in this way will help build capacity and resilience for home energy retrofit delivery more widely and scale up delivery further as Government works towards meeting its 2030 and 2050 decarbonisation targets.
Midlands Net Zero Hub (MNZH), along with BEIS, have organised an event to introduce this exciting new opportunity. The “Upskilling the domestic retrofit workforce” event, will talk you through how this scheme can support you to upskill in the homes retrofit sector, which will enable the appropriate support to current and future BEIS funded schemes.
The event will also include a presentations by:
- MNZH – with responsibility for delivering the scheme
- BEIS – introducing current and future schemes and how this training assists delivery
- Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) – providing insight to how the scheme will offer opportunities to upskill unemployed or new to the industry
During the event, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the scheme and how you can access training and upskill in the homes retrofit sector.
The event has been organised for the 1st September 1.30 – 3.00pm. If you are interested in attending, please register now.
