DEMAND Hub are holding this virtual event to engage with SMEs that are in, or looking to enter the healthcare sector. They have lined up a panel of experts to speak at the event and to participate in a live Q&A, on 6th July 2022 from 10.00am – 14.00pm BST.
DEMAND Hub (Data-Enabled Medical technologies AND Devices Hub) is an ERDF-supported programme for the Black Country, Greater Birmingham and Solihull, Coventry & Warwickshire, and Stoke-On-Trent & Staffordshire LEP regions.
It seeks to support Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) that are within, or looking to enter, the healthcare market. University Hospitals Birmingham in collaboration with the University of Birmingham are facilitating this programme by offering a diverse range of speciality and commercial services that support innovative ideas, product development, or overcome challenges that SME’s are currently experiencing within the healthcare sector in order to develop an innovation adoptable by the NHS. SME’s within the field of pharma, life sciences, medical devices, biotechnology, biomedical technology, or machine learning/AI are all encouraged to join the program.
The role of industry is crucial in the development of healthcare technologies that will lead to better outcomes for patients including new treatments or devices to detect and monitor diseases which could not be achieved by the NHS alone. Our approach to innovation involves finding new ways to deliver change and solve problems. Our people and culture reflect diverse, committed and outcome focused experts; motivated by our sector values and tenacious about quality. Our connections and collaborative style includes being part of the academia and NHS family whilst also connected to industry and innovators whereby, we bridge the gap and can make connections that count. Lastly, our smart use of data creates actionable insights to underpin effective change.
