Date: 07/11/2024
Time: 09:00-17:00
Location: Woodland Grange, Old Milverton Lane, Leamington Spa CV32 6RN
This workshop will be an important first step in helping organisations on their journey towards Net Zero, providing a high-level overview of their carbon emissions and carbon reduction guidance.
Clean Futures is partnering with Auditel to offer SMEs in the West Midlands transport sector and its supply chain this 1-day workshop.
Many organisations believe the changes that they will have to make to achieve net zero carbon emissions will be time-consuming, costly and with all the conflicting information, a little daunting. This is far from the truth, as there are many incentives to help businesses become greener and leaner without costing the earth.
Please note
Due to the prework necessary for this workshop to have the most impact the tickets will close on 13/10/2024 at 12:30pm.
What you will be required to do before the workshop
This is a premium opportunity, and all participant SMEs will complete a survey to allow Auditel to calculate a high-level overview of their carbon footprint. This survey will cover data on:
· Scope 1 emission sources (e.g. fuel purchases)
· Scope 2 emission sources (e.g. electricity consumption)
· Relevant scope 3 emission sources (e.g. employee commuting data)
This data should be submitted to Auditel no later than two weeks prior to the workshop to allow you to be registered for the workshop.
Agenda – Overview
Morning
· Introduction to decarbonisation – a top-level introduction to what a carbon footprint is and why businesses invest in one. It will also discuss Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, what they relate to, and the data needed to calculate them.
· A session discussing GHG protocol standards, verification standards and signposting them towards available e-learning resources.
· Global Net Zero targets and how the UK is planning to meet these.
· Reporting standards and SME implications, also a discussion about how procurement is driving the move towards Net Zero (eg PPN 06/21)

· Each SME to make commitments on how they will use the knowledge gained during the workshop to benefit their organisation.
· Wrap up, clarifying support that is available to SME’s along with feedback on the workshop.
What you will take away from this session:
· SMEs will come away from the workshop with an intermediate knowledge of carbon and net zero, an ability to carry out basic calculations, knowledge of their organisations top line environmental impact and an action plan for decarbonisation of their organisation.
· SMEs should be able to speak with authority on their environmental impact and make informed decisions about decarbonisation strategies. The workshop should give them confidence to bid for contracts that demand declaration of a bidder’s environmental impact as part of the tender process, therefore supporting business growth.
