This project launch will be a great opportunity for all participants to better understand the supply chains ecosystem as well as the potential opportunities to procure big corporations.
The importance of Supply Chains have become centre stage during the Covid-19 pandemic. Small firms have disproportionately suffered from this pandemic and a key policy and societal concern has been to incorporate diverse SMEs into the supply chain of bigger corporations.
The Diverse Supply Chains project will bring together the efforts of the private (HS2, Balfour Beatty Vinci, Natwest) and public sector (GBSLEP, BCC) as well as academics (Aston University – CREME) and civil society representatives (Citizens UK) to provide bespoke support to SMEs in the GBSSLEP to become fit to procure.
This project launch signals the beginning of a research-based 3 years project funded by the ERDF based at Aston Business School. It will feature speakers from:
- HS2
- Balfour Beatty Vinci
- Natwest
- Birmingham City Council
- Aston University
