Sandwell Business Growth are holding a series of breakfast events funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund  called ‘Net Zero Navigators’. They’re holding them for businesses in Sandwell, to help you take your first steps on your journey to net zero.

This event will be the second in the series and will take place on Thursday 27 June at the Sandwell Start-Up Hub (8am to 9:45am). At this breakfast event, you’ll get an overview of the concept of ‘net zero’ and why it is vital that your business seeks to embrace the opportunities of the circular economy. You will explore how being more sustainable can make your business more competitive and consider the steps that your business can take to achieve greater sustainability.

Thanks to our special guest speakers, you’ll get expert insight into regional support currently available to learn about the circular economy. There will be representatives from the Black Country Industrial Cluster, West Midlands Combined Authority, Innovation Alliance for the West Midlands, and Warwick Manufacturing Group to inform attendees of the free and valuable support available.

You’ll also hear about Sandwell Council’s energy efficiency goals, and get a powerful understanding of how SMEs and all businesses across Sandwell can contribute to our collective mission to decrease emissions, save energy costs for businesses, and minimise environmental impacts.

Hear about the support available

We know that accessing such support can often seem complex and confusing, so our team will be on hand to help you understand your options.

A new WMCA funded project called Industrial Symbiosis aims to support businesses working in areas such as manufacturing and construction to adopt sustainable circular economy practices through the re-use of sand, wastewater and metals. This project aims to achieve outcomes such as cost and carbon savings for businesses in the West Midlands on account of a reduction in raw and virgin materials use, also diverting waste from landfill. As well as this, Warwick Manufacturing Group’s Net Zero Innovation Cohort programme provides support to SME’s which will be explained further.

Who should attend?

Businesses that operate within the borough of Sandwell – of all sizes and especially SMEs.
